Hi all.

Am having problems with my roof. When i put it down, it stops by the wind deflector and wont go down any further.. has anyone had a similar problem??

Secondly, some scumbag has stuck a penknife in the hood.. only a small tear, but any tips for repairing?? Ive heard about people who can reapir this.?

Thanks

For about £30 you can get a repair kit and do it yourself - try halfords or your local parts shop. It will look better than sticking on some elephant tape.

If it stops by the wind deflector is it jamming on something? Does it move freely or is it getting stiffer the lower it gets?

It does seem to be jamming a bit, but it moves completly freely untill that point. It doesnt look like anythings obstructing it though.

I wonder if the mechanism has just siezed up a bit? Is there anything in the handbook about lubricating it? A bit of WD40 might just help out.

If the split is bad it is possible this has affected the rigitity and strength of the roof causing it to have problems.

I now know why a lot of owners go for the removable hard top option!
