1x Rubber Mount

1x Gearbox Spacer
2x Anti-Roll Bar Lowering Blocks
2x Hubs
2x Driveshafts
2x Outer CV Joints

first tho i want to rebuild it im abit of a learner on engines so can any one help me on what i need
also performance mods like pistons, cams, pullys, power cap or throttle bodies

i know i need a bigger fuel pump and lines
is there anything else i need or i need to do the corsa b's engine bay
do i need to relocate the battery aswell

thank you for the help ;) top lads

You sound like a man with a plan, good work!

I guess the question is how much do you want to spend on the engine and what sort of power gain would you like?

To be honest mate you should be fine if you use the 2 front hubs and brakes from the Cavalier as they will be bigger. If your Corsa B has rear drums, leaving them as the back end can lock up on light cars with big disks on the back. The standard fuel and brake lines shiuld be fine if you just uprate dthe fuel pump. The Fuel Pressure Regulator is already on the engine aswell as the injectors so you only need the pump. Regal or Courtenay Sport both do a kit for C20XE into a Corsa and has pretty much everything you need. And a word of advice, get very strong uprated drive shafts as my mate who has a Corsa Redtop on R1 carbs went though about 3 sets of shafts till he could afford uprated one ;)

thanks
well i aint gunna put it in the corsa for a few months so price really dun matter i'll just do it bit by bit to get it spot on
power gain i would like alot maybe 200-250 bhp or abit more lol

You can get up to 230bhp with a bit of money and keep it normally asperated, or if you wish, dont get the C20XE and get the C20LET instead which is 207bhp off the shelf and gives you the option of going for closer to 400bhp (if you can get the power down of course)

But if you go for the redtop, I'd suggest something like this to complement the conversion:-

c20let is hard to find and expensive was gunna get 1 the fella wanted £2500

lol
any way ive got the c20xe now and im jus gunna do the engine for now ill leave the ecu till last
thanks for the post

£2500 WOW!!! Think the guys living on cloud nine if he thinks he'll get anywhere near that amount. Going back just over 2 years, I payed £850 for C20LET, Loom, ECU, Radiator, ancileries, all pipework, turbo, manifold and downpipe. Engine had only donw 80,000 aswell. Check out my conversion thread of the Vectra if you wanna see it being done ;)

hi every 1 due to lack of money becouse i moved house the engine has been untouched untill this week wen i broke it down to the block and removed the pistons and cleaned them up and after a good drink and bbq with my m8s i began to think about turning it in to a turbo i want to get the block rebored anyway so i wont be using the c20xe pistons
so i was tinking all i need is
c20let pistons, ecu, turbo, and maybe f28 gearbox is this all or do i need anything else thanks for the reply's people and sorry i aint been in touch for a while

Welcome back mate. it would pay to get the head flowed and ported with a 3 angle valve job as the engine will be pulling in a lot more air.

You need the amal valve, recirc pipes, turbo oil feed and returnn, turbo ecu and turbo loom, some of the corsa loom will need splicing, decent intercooler, different header tank to take the extra feed for the turbo, boost pipes and a custome exhaust system. Just to name a few bit ;)

Oh and welcome back ;)

thanks guys jus bought the pistons now £100 with new rings skint now till next month lol also doin my mk2 escort up so its $$$$ all the time
thanks again

Yeh you'll be looking well over £2000 to rebuild, where as if you bought a C20LET engine you'll pay aboy £1000 or less

well i like learning and getting my hands dirty the only way to learn is to try it :p

:sad2: abit of a problem now the pistons fell through fella sent me xe pistons  ive sent them back now so am lookin for sum more big let down

Have a look on ebay and Piston Heads for someone ho is stripping any C20LET engines if you want some cheaply, then just replace the rings. I still say you would be far better getting hold of a C20LET engine and rebuilding that instead. Will save you £100's mate.

Yeah your probebly right as well and I think I'm right in saying that the early c20lets have cosworth heads on them, there's a really good informative website on how to do these engines up and the nasp version like you have I'll have to find it out for you (don't worry Wayne it's not another forum)

Thats a Big IF!!!! i have a 200bhp@Wheels corsa with a tran-x diff, sticky 195/45 r15 tyres, coilovers and it can be driven round bends!!! why on earth would anyone put a c20let engine in a corsa i dont no i think it must be for the plebs that cant drive and that wanna make that hissy noise every time thay change gear! 200bhp n/a will beat 250bhp turbo'd power every time plus its heavier and a *bad language removed* to work on when in corsa b.

Not necessarily, courtenay sport did a 250 hp c20let nova years ago and that would do 0-60 in under 6 seconds, it's nothing to do with the fact that turbo engine has to try and lay all the torque down, it's how it does it and every who is a vauxhall nut will tell you courtenay know what they are doing,

so i would say it's in fair to make a comment like that really, a properly set up turbo charged car should be able to beat a NA car due to the fact of it's big torque output,

But really it is a case of personal choice, I would take torque over rev's any day, but that's just me, but dare say if i had a second car which I would only use for weekends or track days then I would look into nasp tuning,

well to get over 200 hp he will need to,

45's or 48's will be needed though and they ain't cheap, bikes ones can be used but are not ideal

look im not being alkward but the likes of courtenay and regal are a bunch of *language removed* the sooner people work it out the better! QED and SBD they r the gents u need to talk to it wouldnt suprise me if half thier kit comes from Qed but with thier handling charge.. also if you go to a couple of rallys with old escorts, corsas, novas astras etc u will not find a c20let amongst the lot but the old escorts keep with 2.0l turbo 4x4 scoobys in the dry so now we r back to traction and driverbilty which with a turbo granted u have the torque but u have it all at once which when exiting a bend spins the inside wheel or with a limited slip spins both and sends u off to the curb then u let off and there it is again ya lag is back!!! o-60 times are all very well but in the real world most situations ur drivin speed doesnt go under 50mph on the road if your givin it some even on a stage you carry 30mph into a hairpin on the bar: turbo cars need to be 4x4 to get the power down and then inturn u need to change your drivin style. 4x4 are all about carrying your speed through the bends if u dont the lighter 2wd n/a car with less drag will have the better of u!!!!! staight line driving is NOT what it is all about if it was we'd all have jet engines stickin out of our boots!!!! (iv have made a jet engine out of a turbo, exciting but not the way forward) i think the way forward is with a direct injection petrol engine (renault IDE) cos u can run deisel sorts of compresion ratios without denotation due to the fact there is no fuel in the cylinder until the piston is just past tdc. which would be ecconomical and clean me thinks!!

Valid point, but a a well set up turbo petrol should be just as good as any na even around a track or hillclimb course, I mean yes they do have there short comings, but so do NA's

it all depends on driving style, with a more torquey engine you can make up for the lack of revs with longer gearing and in some circumstances can make for a better car,

and if there too much torque when going out of a corner then you just back off the throttle a bit until you have sufficient grip and the torquey car should be quicker out of the corners,

like i said really it comes down to personal choice I still think that a turbo/supercharged engine is a better candidate for a tight track
