question??

ive got a question on behalf of my m8. im no mechanic so i dont realy know. he told me that when he takes his oil cap off his rockercover there is some yellow gunk around the rim. i said it kight be the head is nackerd but i dont realy have a clue. anyone know what the problem is? thanks :amuse:

Does it look like mayo? If so then the head gasket has blown or is on its way.

its abit darker than mayo. yh the head is what i thought. he said it still drives fine.

Its probably nothing to worry about, in cold weather lots of short trips can allow condensation into the rockerbox cover where the filler box is causing this yellow/white looking gunk.

Check the oil dipstick, if theres just oil on it then there is nothing to worry about, if its not just oil well then your mate has a problem.

a little drop is alright but get him to go for a decent long run to try and get rid of it.
alots a different matter
