project pugworth - Cosworth 206

My brother and i have been building our 206 trackcar which runs a cossie engine and 4x4 box and running gear

We originally where restoring a 1996 nissan primera btcc car which was built by janspeed but money and the fact that parts are either to dear or like hens teeth to find made us sell it with a few tears in our eyes, but with the car on the trailer and off to its new home we took our cash and headed to ebay and then to bolton the next day to buy a sierra 4x4 cosworth which was an ex hillclimb car.
We got the car up the road and we were pleased with our purchase but being us 2 and never content we wanted something else hee hee.
A few phone calls to our mate and a few quid later we had pugworth which started out as a 206 1.2 quest which had the floor chopped out and group A escort coswoth floor installed and a wrc bodykit to finish the look alls we had to do was strip the sierra and swap everything across which is quite straight forward enough.
the car is nearly complete we got the engine and box put in on xmas eve much to the anoyance of our wifes but hey boys and there toys, all we have to do now is wire up everything from all the lights to ignition switches which we will be cracking on with in the next week or 2 so we can get her out and play

il post pics as soon as i can not unless some nice moderater bends the rules a we bit and lets me stick up a few plllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaassssseeeeeeee

Join in with other convo's buddy you'll soon hit ten posts mate.:)
And as it stands it would let you post them up they would just get caught in the mod queue for approval.;)

Re: project pugworth

hey and welcome to the site.
if it wasnt for the WRC kit you could have had a very nice sleeper there. cant wait to see the pics

Re: project pugworth

Thank's mate but that would have been a bit difficult as it use's an escort cosworth back axle which is wider than a peugeot 206 if i had left the kit off then it would have ended up like a reject from the chopshop one of leepoo's scew ups lol

Re: project pugworth

Sounds a very good project!
Get the pics up;)
And welcome to the forum:)

Re: peugeot 206 cosworth

Cheers mate its been a bit of a slog this is the first time we've worked with cossies been mostly vauxhalls.
i can see why fords are quite popular there quite easy to work on

Re: peugeot 206 cosworth

Looks stunning, nice work. What is the engine spec for this then? Have you retained the 4x4 drive train?

Cheers Waynne ididnt mean to start the new thread

We're a bit in the dark with whats been done to the engine.
we do know from what we can see it has

GREEN INJECTORS
3 BAR MAP SENSOR
3 WAY BREATHER
FSE FUEL REGULATOR
T3 TURBO
RS 500 INTERCOOLER
And runs about 26 psi

Its 4 wheel drive using an RnD 5 speed dogbox
and 909 motorsport front and rear diffs
and has a shortened propshaft

When your underneath the car it looks just like an escort cossie just a we bit shorter
I think there are only 3 206 cosworths in britain i could be wrong i know that ESP design have built 1 and there's a few video's on youtube of it

It did in the sierra it came out of cant even think what it will be like in the 206 with a dogbox, wont be long until we find out though

im sure there will be pleantyof 'bronw-pants' moments to begin with lol!
did the engine fit in fairly well or was there a lot of cutting to do in the engine bay?

Yeah your rite beige trouser day lol.its basically had the full 206 floor and engine bay cutout and binned, then an escort cosworth floor engine bay and bulkhead fitted so the engine and gearbox just slot in,it is just kinda a shorter escort cosworth with a new dress on lol

its been stripped bare so the shell could be converted so everything needs to be put back in like all the wiring for the lights, indicators wiper motors and wiring ,and all the ignition and ecu wiring, its a bit of a task but the beauty is that its a track car so dont need to do half the stuff to it we would have to do to use it as a road car so happy days
