Hi,
I have a clunking noise coming from the car, possibly driveshaft, diff or something. Feels as if a cog tooth is missing from something. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Thanks for helping.

Really sorry I missed your post! That doesn't happen often.

Does the sound happen on full lock?

If you solved the issue please post up your solution so others with the same thing can read it.;)

Oh and a very warm welcome to TorqueCars forums, nice to meet you. We don't usually ignore new members, your message never got flagged up as a new message for some reason! (Database glitch which has now been fixed!)

We have a few members up in Scotland so you are in good company.

What plans do you have for your car?

Thanks for acknowledging my message. I took porsche to garage who tell me it needs a gearbox. I'm gutted! The garage has used it's contacts but cannot source the 4 wheel drive gearbox required. Can anyone help me out here? My car is a 1990 Carrera 4 Targa, 4 wheel drive model. Hope someone out there has more contacts than me.

Hi and welcome from me. Asked a couple of guys in TIPEC club in your area and they suggested Brian Miller in Edinburgh, a TIPEC member and regular guest speaker at the monthly meet in Bo'Ness Motor Museum and MotorTune in Shotts again Edinburgh/Glasgow area.

If it's just parts you need then JMG can supply any Porsche part no matter how rare and that's where I get my parts from including my car and engine :blink1: http://www.jmgarage.com/
Specialist breakers like Douglas Valley should be able to help aswell http://www.douglasvalley.co.uk/default.asp

Hope that helps and keep us posted how you get on.

Andy

Thanks Andy, I'll try the links you've given me. It was Brian Miller who I took the car to and he has diagnosed the gearbox failure. He's a good guy and I would certainly recommend him.
