picks of my engine bay

Nice to see it being driven in anger. Did you have the track to yourself? No one else was brave enough to be shown up by a Volvo?;)
Was a track attack sprint, so one car at a time. second in my class.

You've been busy. :amuse:

new Intercooler, Strut brace & a new enclosure for the air filter,

There's some other shiny bit's that I'm embarrased to say, I don't recognise. :embarrest::amuse:

I've seen it on top of Terrano engines, is there a scoop on the bonnet too?

There's more this than meets the eye isn't there? :toung:

Have you nicked a turbo from a train?

Awesome mate, I'd love to do something like this as well on my car,

and as you said, having the turbo blow though the supercharger is the best wat to do it as well, plus it won't screw up your MAF/MAP readings

do you think it's worth replacing all those intercoolers with a water to air charger cooler?

:)
Quite possibly, but i tend to use what I have, or can get cheap, if the concept works I will improve on it as I see problems, i have another engine with "H" beam rods, and a Mahosive turbo waiting in the wings

Now......

we are talking there, H beam rods aren't needed on those T5 engines unless you want stupid power.
What turbo is it you've got? Garrett GT30? Mitsubishi TD05? or bigger still?

still using standard pistons?

Standard rods bend at around 350bhp, I wont need pistons unless I go well over 400bhp,
I'm hoping for high 300's, the turbo I'v got is a crap XSPower super T70 Turbo , but Again, I like to by cheap (brand new for £60) and if it works then replace with better components.

It doesnt look like a lot has been achived today, but it's amazing how much time making brackets takes. so both intercoolers are now fitted

I can even close the bonnet, but i need to have a bit of a think about the strut brace.

Not much to see, I need a couple more silicone bits, then she should be running
Heres a couple of picks of the Mounts, I'll take them off and tidy them up and give them a coat of paint once I'm sure they work ok

So, I'v decided what look I'm going for with the bonnet

I'v cut about an inch off the hight and got rid of the front bit, I may go lower yet.

Well as prommised, a vid of the first start, unfortunately I'v run out of hose clips so I can't rev the engine (it just blowes the boost pipe off as soon as i close the throttle)
still to do, fit the oil cooler (I'v just bypassed it for now) modify bottom hose and then tidy up. then comes the slow process of mapping it using a dastek unichip.
