Picked up the 5 series on Friday.

Here's a few pictures before it gets dirty. Car cleaning is not my strong point.

It's in absolutely incredible condition. Someone has cherished this car. And now it belongs to me :embarrest:.

Which means it'll be serviced hard and looked after but it'll probably never be this clean again.

It looks good, as you say immaculate. Enjoy it as I'm sure you will. It takes a little while to get used to the power bands of a car but do let us know your first impressions of it.

It's not as swift as the mapped 406 but it's not at all far behind. I have driven several E39s which is how I can testify that this one drives like new.

I also adapt to new cars very quickly. It does, as you'd expect it to, need a lot more revs to get it to give its best than would be required of a torquey diesel but the transmission is aware of this and sorts it out very well indeed.

I'd have preferred a 535i with the V8 engine but this one was in such fabulous condition with a full history I could not turn it away.

It does look amazingly tidy & the engine bay looks like new, maybe you could get the car sprayed in in a teflon coating to keep it nice!
