peugeot 205 water leak

I have recently bought a 1990 peugeot 205 1100cc. water is getting into the front passenger footwell. It appears to be coming down the end of the dash emerging down the bonnet release lever. We cant trace where it is coming from - any ideas ?

What the windscreen like?
Has it ever been replaced?

The windscreen doesn't look if it has been changed. Thereis no evidence that I can see of leekage.
Where does the drain channel for the sunroof on my 205 exit ?
Could exit into the footwell ? If so how do you check it is clear?

i would say windscreen rubbers or there is rust behind them

Do you have a roof aerial? if so check this is tight and that the rubber seal is intact, you can usually access the aerial fixing nut from behind the courtesy light cluster.
