Right I got bored yesterday so I decided I'd give one of my old Primera wheels a lick of paint. Now I haven't gone over the top with prep work or anything cause I just wanted to see how they looked matt black.
So here's the wheel before. It has some rust on it due the primera brakes locking on and grinding the disk.

An after a quick prep I sprayed it Matt black and this is the result.

I think they look fantastic. Are you going to write up a DIY guide on this? (hint hint!)

I can do when I do them properly. Won't be until we have some good weather though. This was just a quick test but it did turn out better than I thought. When I do all four i'll take loads of pics and do a Write up for you mate.

Having done this myself many times, this is one of the easiest and most rewarding DIY projects you can do. What is most enjoyable about it is that you can take a standard set of manufacturer wheels and turn them into something unique with just a few hours work and a few cans of paint from Halfords. I used to be in a Granada owners club and wrote a diy article on refurbishing wheels for the club magazine when I restored a 2.8 ghia x estate which went on to win best in show when completed. I have just refurbed a set of wheels for my escort van in red and white from a set of escort alloys and they look really good. The key is preperation, the rest is down to your imagination !!!!!!!

Me and a mate of mine have recently done this to his wheels for his Matiz! Satin black... they look so much better than the standard colour.
