The Torque Meister
Whilst my car is my car the wifelet has said there is no way I can have a gauge pod in the centre of the dash (Actually I don't mind too much as I prefer subtle mods to things that stand out).
However, she has agreed to my back up plan
Replace my head unit with a double din unit that is Android capable and has Mirrorlink (or an equivalent). Then get the app Torque Pro (again or equivalent), an OBD2 connector, run the app then mirror it onto the head unit. Viola, instant digital gauges! Hurrah!
The only thing standing in my way (bar the cost of the new head unit) is knowing whether my car is ODB2 or not. It appears to be right on the cusp of when Japanese market cars were changing and I can't find any definitive answer.
Do any of you fine gen'lemen know of a good way of finding out if my car is OBD2 or not?
Subaru Impreza WRX STI JDM 1998.

Spoiler tags in so crawler bots can't grab the info so easily. Not sure what they'd do with it, but you never know
