Hey everyone my name is chance, it’s great to be here and I’m glad I found this forum!
Well, to start things off I found torquecars while researching twin charging information for my project car. Some of you may give me a bit of grief for what my project car is (it’s ok I’m used to it ), but I’m currently building a 2000 Saturn Sl2 5 speed manual! It was originally an sl1 (single overhead cam) before I bought a second gen DOHC (better flow than 3rd gen and blots right up to the block) and installed it.
While I was at it I found that in the DOHC saturn’s people often do a dual intake cam mod, basically just take another intake cam from a donor head and Install where the exhaust cam was.
Basically they have a little bit more lift for better flow. I also advanced the timing 2 teeth on the exhaust side for some better scavenging and a little bit better performance.
I was thoroughly surprised at how much peppier it was after the modifications! I went ahead and had the trans built with a MFactory lsd and a clutchmasters 6 puc sprung clutch in preparation for the turbo engine I will be soon swapping into it.
One of the main reasons I initially joined this forum was to see if I could get some help or ideas on twin charging my Saturn instead of just running a single turbo.
Reason being is so I can have my low end boost as well instead of waiting for the turbo to spool. I have seen guys that have supercharged saturns, and I have seen guys that have turboed them, but I have yet to see anyone attempt a twin charged set up.
Basically I am trying to figure out what all I would have to do to get it to work correctly, and any info helps! Thanks!
