Hello my name is roger and i am on my way to buy my nissan. Now, the question i hawe is, is there anything i should be carefull whit?? any problem whit this engine?? how many horse power can i get?? sincerly Roger:blink::blink:

I only wish I did! Hopefully one of our Nissan specialists will be along in a while to help and guide you! It would be very helpful if you can tell us the exact model and year of manufacture. Good Luck :)

Hey and welcome. Sorry for the late reply but I have been gone for a bit. Used to have the same car/engine only a bit newer. Biggest issue you will find with them is the timing belts when it comes time to change it. Have a shop to it. Trust me you will be wishing you had if you aren't used to being around cars. Have to pull the radiator and pretty much half the engine to get it done. I'm still hoping to get me another one but will prolly have to wait until I get to Japan and try to get one there. Hit me up if you want some info, I can also point you in the right direction for the mods/info. Gl and have fun.

thanks, well i probebly will, i found a engine whit 1200+Rhp but it will coast me 100,000. what can i do abaout the gear box, do i hawe to change it or can it handle so mutch power?? i wanna build a monster, that is really fast and whit awesome power. and this engine is just what i am looking for, there will be a big trouble, i dont think i can use it on swedisch roads, because of the gas from the engine, i think it will be to high.

I would suggest trading out the gearbox. I have seen them have up to 900hp but if you are pushing that much power you will want to get something designed for it. You will also have to reinforce the frame and body. Most likely everything from the ground up will need beefing up/replacing. Suspension and brakes will need a definitely overhaul and you might as well pull out the HICAS system while your at as that WON'T support that much power. If you want something that is a bit more street friendly, check my older posts. I have one with a link to a really nice 300zx pushing around 800hp and is still street legal in the states so should pass your laws there.

The 300ZX is renowned for its tight engine bay and lots of mechanics don't like to work on them or charge an arm and a leg to do so.

At 1,200HP, you'll be wanting to do more than just the transmission (think brakes, suspension, tyres etc). Traction is going to be a bit of an issue too!

yes, well i think i dont bather, after all i want to be able to use my car, so 6-7 00 hrs power would be no trouble, and i will uppgrade the brakes any way, and a stronger clutch, and better swift bars, i will take photos on my car, and show how my work proceed. have a nice day every one / Roger

thats more realistic. was wondering how you would pay for the fuel in that thing. most of the ups will still need to be done though. I would suggest getting a good mechanic to double check your gears though. They can handle the power but only if they haven't been abused to much. Wish I had video of the guy that literally had his fall apart at a track day. Sucked for us as they shut down the entire track to clean up the mess.

okej, thats sound like a dissaster, the fuel, well, i have read about other car builder and they have 800 hrp, but the use E85 as fuel, i wounder what changes would i have to do, to get it to work?? and about the gear box, i will do as you told me to leave my gearbox to a mechanik that can check it out. i am soo gratefull thanks friend.

E85 is just an ethanol based fuel. I would stick with just your standard fuel available in your area and you should be good. If you are luck you will be able to find some high octane stuff. Here in the states we are luck to find 95 Octane. Remember that a higher octane fuel is best once you start to highly tune. Don't want knock issues, they can kill an engine fast. I would recommend maybe getting a front clip from Japan if your engine and so forth isn't in the best shape. Not hard to come by and they have all the engine components right there. Just make sure you get the same type or you will have some fabrication work to do.

Also, make sure you report ALL your mods to your insurance, even if its just something simple as an electric water pump. Otherwise, they can drop you if you get in a fender bender.

okej well we hawe 95 oktane fuel here to, so i stick whit it.

These CP Pistons are a great addition to any Nissan 300zx VG30 engine. CP Pistons are manufactured by the same group that supplies F1, F3000, IRL, Cart, World Rally Teams, and such prestigious names as Ferrari and Porsche.

** Available for both TT and N/A **

*** Full crown and skirt coating can be added for $250 ***.

Accessories

what do you think abaout this pistons??

Ceramic/Moly Piston Coating

Coating the piston reduces friction and wear, reduces part operating temperature, can increase horse power and torque, reduce or eliminate detonation, and allow tighter piston to wall clearances for a better ring seal.

If you are going to go that far, you might as well see if you can find a shop near you that could cryo treat your engine and internals. Will give you a great strength boost and a lot less to worry about damage wise later down the road. Just a thought though.

My personal preference was to get all the parts I needed for a system then install them all at once. (engine, turbo, exhaust, suspension/steering/brakes) that way you have a lot less down time by not taking the engine apart for pistons, then cams, then valves.

Also, get the specs on all your parts and take them to a local tuning shop and get their input on the good/bad of the setup. I can't tell you how many times I've been saved by the shop pointing out incompatible parts or ones that I missed.

yes i am gonna get all the things i need, but what do you mean whit cryo treat?? never heard of it before, and what will it do to the engine?? i hope you can understand what iam writing to you

okej, i have never heard of it, it sounds verry effektiv, but where can i find it in sweden?? i dont think we have it her, but i will check it upp, thanks verry mutch

No prob. You can always ship it out of country if you really need to. Since you were looking at a 100,000 engine I'm gonna assume that you can afford that. In the long run though, just make sure you have your block checked out thorough before doing any high more advanced mods and you should be good. Also, keep up on your maintenance or that engine will tank on you. It runs better than a clock until you neglect it then you are looking at VW bug style issues.
