Hi y’all just signed up and looking for help on problems with a Honda H22a swap into 1990 crx race car I purchased a few months back. Live in boiling springs South Carolina and looking for help tuning and getting this car running right. I can’t get ahold of original builder with questions so am left in the dark! car runs rough no real power, sent ECU out that has Demon chip tuning, checking all the usual cause’s compression, plugs, injectors blah blah blah. Anyone in the area that knows there Hondas as I’ve had this car to two different shops with no success. Also looking for experienced road coarse drivers to join endurance race team, thanks SK

Hello and a very warm, welcome to TorqueCars from me the admin!

I'm sure you'll fit in just fine and look forward to Talking Cars with you. It sounds like the cam profile is quite aggressive, a higher idle.

If you use a higher octane fuel or if you can higher Ethanol fuels does this help? It may have been mapped to run on race fuel or higher octane fuel.

Bear in mind a lot of these older engines suffer from elastomer degradation with ethanol, but as it's a rebuild the nitrile rubber etc may well have been replaced.

I like the sound of this project, we love diversity and respect ALL car projects.
