2004 Saab 95 2.3T
Okay, I own a ‘04 Saab 95 ARC 2.3T. Basically a detuned aero. I’ve had the car two years now and brought it back to life. Covered in tree sap, spider webs inside the interior. Well 2 years later she’s clean S. Whistle. Open air intake. Changing oil every 3000 miles. New DIC, plugs, newly rebuilt TD04-15T from an 08 95 with King Cobra intake. 3” dp to 2.5 straight pipe. Aero inner door panels. All new stock speakers. I’ve worked my A&& off and the blood sweat and tears are worth it to me. She’s very respectable for her age. Any tips on a lightweight flywheel for the trans or fmic? Talk to me.

Many of the Vauxhall performance parts from the UK will fit these, as they share many components.

Don't go single mass if the current setup is a dual mass, they chose that for a reason but there's no reason why you shouldn't drop a little weight, if you need a faster engine response.

Single mass? Also I was looking into the vauxhaul coil overs but fye Saab forums i. The USA Usually Frown and say they don’t fit or needs mods etc. I love my Saab. It’s my first euro, First Saab, first boosted car. It’s been very fun and a lot of learning.

lemme ask you this, I have found high quality FMIC’s that will fit in my OG95 but people tell me to use the expensive original placement ones. In my humble opinion, the stock placing is the main source of heat soak. Therefore killing the whole intercooler idea in my opinion. Let me know what you think and thank you for Responding.

If you can mount any intercooler where it will get more air flow thru it that will make the air entering the inlet manifold closer to the ambient temperature which will make more power.

Placing the intercooler in contact with the radiator is bad news. There needs to be isolation and ideally a clear and good air flow path around it. Heat soak is a problem with any intercooler, and larger ones just delay this problem.

There is a lot of SAAB genuine part snobbery but many aftermaket parts are much better than the originals, turbos of twin scroll design and coilovers are a case in point.

Single mass = solid flywheel.
