Toyota Yaris S
Hello,

Ive been searching around the internet looking for ideas to give my little 2009 Toyota Yaris S, a bit more performance. Not looking for anything major but id love to increase by 15-20 HP. BUT, i dont want it to sound like a weed eater. So with that said, anybody have any thoughts on how to approach thos project?

Thanks!

Waynne, the admin here and I would like to personally extend a sincere welcome to TorqueCars. I apologize for the delay in responding; I've had a really busy period recently, but I believe I've caught up now.

How about some weight reduction. Can these be remapped in your area? In most cases, Yaris owners go with an aftermarket ECU to tweak these but you'll only gain around 10% more power with a remap. My focus would be on suspension and brakes, where your driving enjoyment will be noticeably improved.

Thanks for joining and posting up an intro thread. I like the sound of your project, and I'm sure you'll fit right in, and I'm looking forward to "talking cars" with you.

I enjoy the idea of this project, and I'm a big fan of all kinds of automotive projects in whatever form they take, from cars to project ideas.

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate having some experts around to make suggestions.

Can you tell me, if I want to keep asking questions, like about the suspension or the ECU, should I start a new thread with those in the subject line?

Thanks again
Jeff

It is usually best to ask very focused questions. Please be patient it can take people a while to get back (including myself) as we all have lives and jobs to maintain.
