ok so I've been looking at getting a new exhaust for my car.

I'm new to this so I'm unsure and have a few questions.

I own a Alfa Giulietta 1.4 (turbocharged) with 170bhp and 250nm. I'm looking at getting a new camshaft and air induction kit but I thought getting the exhaust done first would be the best option. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I was thinking either https://www.gazzellaracing.com/product.php?productid=19030&cat=3805&page=1 or https://www.gazzellaracing.com/product.php?productid=19031&cat=3805&page=1 these appear to be just the exhaust and a silencer but I'm not sure whether I will need to replace other parts of the exhaust system to make the performance different?
if so what bits? (https://www.gazzellaracing.com/home.php?cat=3805) (this is just a link with the rest of the bits for the exhaust system)

So do I need to replace the whole exhaust manifold, catalyst and down pipe as well as the main exhaust?
assuming so and guessing these all need to be done at the same time?

any advice or recommendations are welcome

thanks.

Howdo. I'm not an expert but I believe changing just the later parts of the exhaust will give a little benefit but not much. For major gains you need to change the manifold and the cat for ones that flow more freely.

If it was me and YOUR funds allow it, then I would seek out a tubular exhaust manifold, and a 3 inch downpipe with a sports CAT if the engine bay allows you the room to install this. A lot more money granted, but the turbo will benefit from a quicker spool up and with the larger downpipe fitted the exhaust gas temperatures will be lower too which is a good thing. I would wait to hear from others on here first who are infinitely more knowledgeable about these things than I, but this system works incredibly well for my own little chariot.

What kind of ball park figure are you talking "if my funds allow it", I'd rather spend extra to get something done right then cheap out and have to replace it.
isn't a 3inch down pipe too big for my car with it only being a 1.4 I know its turbocharged but I thought 1.5-2 inches top?

thanks tough T9 man

No idea of price for your car buddy, "if my funds allow it" I always say this as different people have different ideas as to what is and is not a lot of money ;)

You will have to get some quotes in or talk to a Alfa performance aftermarket specialist.
Yes you are probably right about the downpipe size, again the Alfa aftermarket companies might have a package off the shelf so I would look at these first before going down the custom route.

that's fair enough.
I will talk to a few companies that are fairly local see what they can offered etc
thanks again

FWIW for a 1.4 turbo I would think a 2 1/2 inch system would be the ideal size.

Any decent performance exhaust shop should be able to build a mandrel bent system.
