old habits never go away:love: twenty 5 years ago it was mk2 escorts with bda twinkys ripping body shells apart and between janspeed and bilstein not many mods were on offer. now with tings like kids, the wife.and bills i find myself in a very old 1400 tigra that needs a few parts. i plan to swap all worn out components with peformance parts as and when they fail ie. after crimbo the exhaust eill be ready for its new life as a bean can or disposable bar b q.so full stainless power boost fuel valve and panel filter r on my list.any alternative to brand new would be looked at if i knew where to look any help or hints appreciated from an old timer coming out of retirement and getting dirty spanners and cut hands:lol:

\Hey and welcome bobster.

have a look in the shop link at the top, its a link to potn tuning - cost the same as going direct to the shop but the site gets a little to help with running costs.
have you thought about a mild / fast road cam as well ?

Re: Introduce yourself here

thanx for the cam tip buddy but being an old school tweaker i think after more fuel in and quicker gases out i had better look at stoppin a bit better.but do modern day cams need rich mans stuff like bigger vaives and gas flowig?? im so out of touch nowadays

Welcome to the site, nice to have you along. I've made you up a new thread. It sounds like you have a plan.

They share a lot of parts with the Corsa so it should be a cheap project. Suspension mods would be at the top of my list.

What about an engine swap to a 2.0 Turbo? Cams should work ok without gas flowing unless you go with race cams. Port matching will also help even the basic engine.

A good cheap mod would be the FSE fuel boost valve - it regulates the fuel pressure and gives a much faster throttle response.

thank you wane; where do i go now dude.1 minute my heads around just a basic to mildly hectic mid range project and now my hearts shouting can you really drop 2 litres in strap a blower to it and start to eat tyres like fat people eat cakes? can anyone supply me with suggested lumps etc.suitable for transplants with minimal disruption to the rest of the car. as i read your data refering to corsa bits fitting is there a 1800 16v model or similar? who knows? back to work now to pay for MORE TORQUE TREATS

The Corsa SXi engines are fine transplants and fairly easy. Older Cavalier engines also fit easily - I've heard of some SRI130 lumps finding their way into Corsas. If you are going to do it then do it right. The 2.0 Turbo from the Astra is the ultimate mod but I've not heard of anyone who has done it yet but I'm sure it is do-able.

I would go for a 1.6 16v motor with cams or throttle bodies, depending on how deep your pockets are, sort the brakes and suspension first though otherwise it'll be a pig of a drive, yes there is a 1.8 but the 1.6 tuned is my recommendation :D

garymv6. optimistic or what!!! if i could afford a v8 lump all the integral work to accomodate it and then the insurance dude i would throw the wedge at a respectably butch evo 6. but i applaud your style chap
