opinion time people, here is a picture of two mirrors the right one has the croma green paine that is currenlty on the car the left one has a test paint on it which is the original croma green with a colour crystal in the laquer. trying to make my mind up which one to go for, the crystal brings out colour tingies on the leading edges of the paint as seen in the pic, yu can se the yellow gold lead hints on the left mirror.
what do you think guys its decision time

DSC00313.jpg

it will be for everything except the carbon that is staying as carbon, if its green then it would have the crystal laquer over the top, inc the wheel rims

Paint the CF as well, otherwise you will just look like every other wannabe boy racer. You car deserves more than that!

my sponsor has had to move premises and the new premises they are in has had to have tonnes of work done, new floors pits dug and supported for spray equipment so the car hasnt been touched for about 3 months its been in storage at another facility were we are not allowed to work on it, its at that point were so close yet so far.

everything is ready to go but im waiting for there spray booth/ oven to go in the work shop, that is already to go the pits have been dug etc but were waiting for the guy who builds the booths then to come and errect the booth, then we can dip the car get the paint off and clean the cage etc and put it straight in for paint once thats done the car is pretty much finnished just bolt it together

just counting the hours and days now waiting and waiting

projects been on hold for a while due to money issues but shes underway again, well heres a couple of teaser pics of the wide arches, skirts etc being made this week, had a lot of progress over the past couple of weeks its even got an electric steering column now lol

Nice - thanks for the update. I thought you'd got so carried away with your Smart that you'd forgotten the Skylime.

When do you reckon you'll have it on the road then?

Skylime lmao

Hopefully a couple of months mate got to wait for the manifold to be made in america but apart from that its game on and seems to be being worked on very well at present

still lots to do though :)

Colour, the green thats on is is going to be a base coat for a translucent refelctive crystal, some lights it will be green others gold but pretty much whatever angel you look at it and depending on what edge u look at it will be either green gold or a combination of colours between those two :)

Wheels, ive got the 19s running 285s, but ive fitted the car with all adjustable arms including adjustable wishbones so i can pull the track width of the car out within the limits of the stearing etc and then fit a 25-30mm spacer for the rest, the car works out to be 75mm wider at each corner so 150mm all round

golfmk3vr6, tonnes of work to do mate but were steaming ahead now, all the fabrication should be finnieshed by end of this week then its down to Bondo work, block all the lines and curves in to perfection get the flat panels realy straight, as a lot of its FRP now its harder to make straight than metal is. once its blocked off and all looking good its into paint with the old gorl for the bonnet boot and interior to be painted, then drop all the goodies into it and paint the exterior

IF ANYONE KNOWS A DECENT FLOCKER WHO HAS GOOD PRICES LET ME KNOW PLEASE

No time atm. I might be selling it now anyway as for what I wanted flocked in the Punto, and my mate wanted flocked in the SX, it wasn't much more expensive to buy a machine and the materials myself. Now we don't have either I don't have as much need for it any more!

intresting how much you floggin it for

a slight update

the new 19s against the old 18s

a little teaser of the new paint
20022011132.jpg

the kit put on, ignore the wheels pics were taken before the adjustable arms were pulled out, wheels now sit 2mm inside the arches, still need to make the front diffuser and undertray and then fill bondo and block till everything is spot on
19022011128.jpg

19022011127.jpg

everythings there now just need the time to put it all togther
just so you get an idea. KR carbon bonnet, custom carbon bonnet diffuser, Gandor carbon mirrors, Carbon Apillars, Level Carbon boot and 61" carbon drift wing its gonna be mental............

Thanks for the link TN :D Looking great much prefer the new wheels. Didn't like the old ones so just thought I'd keep quiet about them lol. The arches look PHAT!
