MOT question

False

cats were not compulsory untill 1992 so 1991 and before dont need a cat for the MOT.

dont know where 95 came from ???

Some grey imports (like stageas) are not on the UK vehicle emmissions list so they get away with a easier test measured at around 3000rpm . This is really useful as the turbo hasnt fully kicked in by then

Thats what I was thinking of. The Honda Prelude 2.2 SI is not on the list they always have to type in the detailes manually.

"Non CAT test for all cars till 1992"

"BB4 is non cat test because is grey import and its not supposed to be in UK, that why they don't have numbers to do cat test, even if is 95, they don't have model BB4 so they cant run cat test."

and its shame that half or garages don't know that, Print this off and take it in to the MOT centre

Ive heard this phrase a few times " it isnt supposed to be in the uk "

All grey import means is the car was made outside the EEC and wasnt supplied new in the uk by the manufacturer
