mk5 escort 1.4 HELP!!

hi everyone.

i have a problem with my ford escort mk5, just recently my car alarm has been setting itself off for no apparent reason, it only happens during the hours of 1.30am and 3.30am, i cannot think of anything to do to prevent this from happening, maybe because im half asleep at this time,
is there anything that i can do.

Can you adjust the sensitivity?

i have'nt got a clue, not really had a good look, been working to much. it only has a standard manifacture alarm, so i dont really know where to look first, could it be anything to do with the fact my passanger door got broken into and something is setting it off that way?

check the door switches are working then ?
does it have an interior monitoring system ?
