micra k10 shell is sound-so where to start

i dont know where to start the car has been striped all but the dash and seats as i still use it everyday. maybe the engine needs to go in first witch i need to source ? or do i put my cash in to carpeting and such as it will have to be riped out when the engine goes in?
 
i want a modern engine with also electric windows central locking etc, so am looking for something form 90s but it has to be hole car. the inside needs a tiny bit of welding and the interior can go back but i dont think it is, i think i would like to carpet the hole floor with a thin carpet to keep wight down? i would also like a roll cage i can weld but dont know where to start with that, can i get a bolt in one? not a fan of subs and such but what can i do with the space inside the car? mabe i should fit the rear seats back in?

whats would you do?
