What are your thoughts on the MG Maestro Turbo. They seem to be a bargain now, a few years ago they were still fetching good money.

Are they really a bargain or are they a lot of trouble waiting to happen?

That's the issue, a lot have rusted away. They have stunning performance stats, especially considering it's age.

They crop up for sale from time to time. A few are kept by enthusiasts and have been restored although the bottom would appear to have fallen out of the market.

I think hens teeth springs to mind though. Did you find one Billyo?

untill a couple of years ago a mg maestro turbo was the fastest fwd in the world on the strip! but was replaced with a mg zr which currently holds the record but built by the same company

about 15yrs ago these used to always be going through the auction and actually facnied getting one for a while but never got round to it. think it would be a good buy, as said above, if you can find a non-rusty one. let us know what its like if you find one,

Only worth getting if you intend to keep it for a while as once you start you'll find it hard to stop spending on it. A worthwhile purchase but finding a good one will be hard. Don't forget the Montego version as well. We have a member on the ZS forum who has a Turbo Maestro.

Ah the good old Monty turbo with the missing indicator lenses, this was either a sceney look or a Rover fault!;)

Anyone remember the Montego advert with the guy in the car park?
