    You could try extending the incoming air filter pipework and get it nearer the front of the car in some free space. You could also try a kit that has a wide scoop on the end of the pipework, theory being that with it located behind your front grill or fixed immediately below your front bumper lip - assuming there is enough height clearance, the air will be directed into the ductwork more easily and if your travelling at speed then the air will arrive at the filter more forcefully.
