MAF needed for golf v5

hi i am new to this site so hi 2 u all.
I need a new MAF for my 170bhp golf v5, is it ok 2 buy a second hand 1 or are they best off new?

try cleaning it in medical grade alcohol 98%, remove put in a plastic pad with alcohol slosh around, let air dry, it MAY help

best buying a new one. they can be cleaned as above - go to a good chemist and get a bottle of IPA. might help for a little while but chances are a new one will be needed.
