Right....

I need to increase the size of the Elan's air intake opening as it is now too small. However, I am undecided as to what looks best. Below are some rough mock ups of options.

Any thoughts from the torqusters?

personally i would say 4 because its not too tall, basically the same shape as standard but bigger whereas the other ones are different shapes, eg, square or too wide for the hight.

perhaps the fourth one a 'tad' more on the hight, but not much.

one is a bit too big imo for the car.

are you doing this for extra air flow over the intercooler?

and is that a photoshop jobbie you have done there??

I have to agree with Steve on this one. Maybe a tad bit wider but not much.

I think 3 or 4. 3 looks "happier" somehow so 4 is more appropriate for the mean machine you are creating.

Will you be adding a front splitter as well?

Yes, Existing opening is much too small for proposed power.
Nearly, Corel Paint (can't afford Photoshop).

Started to work on front grill. In order to keep the front looking as 'standard' as possible, I am thinking of leaving existing opening as is, but adding additional vents under and to the side. Any thoughts?

I think you'll lose the look if you added extra vents. Just enlarge the one thats there would be best IMHO.

Thanks for comments. However..........

Having made the opening one large hole I didn't like it, so.........

Work in progress

Thats looking good. You're pretty handy with fibreglass, thats not a bad finish at all. It even looks straight;)

Well, I have been doing it for a few years and it IS straight!

The tricky part, however, is getting it symetrical. Lots of patterns scattering the floor :)
