Hi,

Really struggling to find an uprated clutch for my kia. I'm new to this and fiddling with my motor. It's had a decent remap but on original clutch done 67000 and slippery if flooring it due to boost etc ..... Engine is fine turbo ok but clutch is where i need to start.. apparently the Hyundai veloster turbo is the same engine I'm running a 2013 model. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hello and welcome |B

Almost certainly a turbo car should have a stronger clutch to handle the increased power and torque and any competent rebuilder should be able to supply a replacement kit that will have a pressure plate with a higher clamping pressure . Make sure that the spigot and throwout bearings are replaced at the same time as well.

The flywheel may be a dual mass design so that should also be replaced with a new OR with a single mass FW .

Thanks it is single mass so should be fine. Thanks. Sachs do one for my car but says only 15% extra power transfer and at 600 -700 that's pricey i think...... 350-400 more than reasonable for a clutch i would say unless i had a 500 bhp monster or something ..... But I don't but it's really hard finding one for this engine/gearbox apparently the veloster is the same but dont want to risk and then its not right etc ....

Don't you have any clutch rebuilders near you ?

I would advise to have the FW skimmed id there is anything dodgy in the mating surface.

Waynne the admin here and I would like to personally extend a sincere welcome to TorqueCars. I apologize for the delay in responding; I've had a really busy period recently, but I believe I've caught up now. Parts are becoming more available for these. The catalog was nonexistent a few years ago.

Check the part numbers, they will match up if they are straight swaps. Rymec, Borg N Beck and LUK make clutches for these, try the ebay link below to find them.

Thanks for joining and posting up an intro thread.
