insurance, what do you reckon

when i renewed my car insurance a couple of weeks ago, the bloke over the phone actually said to me your insurance does differ depending on what job you have, i dont understand why that would differ to be honest, i did ask him whats the best job to have for low insurance but he didnt take me seriously he just laughed, why due reckon that is?

so if i was working from home it would be cheaper, than if i was to be a bomb deposal specialist lol

i cant work it out, i thought insurance was due to who you are, your age, your NCB and your average miles a year :blink:

I worked as a broker for some time and the job loadings vary immensely.

Farm workers, high prices. (Probably down to seasonal work, high amount of fraudulent or inflated claims and cars left in the unnatended countryside with a high theft risk.)

Programmers again high loads, the reasoning for this is probably due to their heads being full of numbers and gadgets distracting them.

Civil servants have lower prices, cars are usually kept in secure parking areas and they are typically "responsible" citizens read Mr Average.

Now I had a choice
Web designer or Marketing consultant in either IT, Computers or New Media as the industry types. Each had very different loadings but all could pretty much fit my actual job.

I was notified of this as well. I used to work in a factory, but I moved to the banking industry. I had yet another ticket on my record when i reinsured myself but the insurance barely changed. I expected it to go up. The insurance lady said because the car would be spending most of it's time in a secured lot, that it lowered my rate slightly (never enough of course).

mine is high cos i am a mechanic any thing in the motor trade is dear
but have trade insurance now is saving me loads of money

well very rare i work on my own cars i sell then before anything needs doing lol

but the landrover broke the rule
as that broke loads of things lol but wont claim on the insurance for that as its a off road car and that what its used for and if i crash into you its the end of your car them ball bars are made well lmao

Well, its not very often you find a good mechanic these days! the insurance companys have to play it safe!!!!
