What will you be driving in 10 and 20 years time?

I suppose we should say what do you hope to be driving and realistically what will you most likely be driving?

I would like to own an RS4 in 10 years time and an R8 in 20 (probably can afford it by then but it will be the V12 Mk3 edition!)

Realistically I will still have my A3 in 10 years time and probably a Golf Diesel in 20.

In 10 years time I'll be 31. Probably have an RS4 or maybe a DB9 if they go as cheap as you can pick DB7's up for these days for the weekends. Probably a newer Alfa diesel of some model for a runabout. Ideally I'd like an Integrale Evo 2 as a restoration/project too, but they just bleed you dry so I don't think that's going to happen.

In 20 years time I'll be 41! Hmmm....no idea!

Wow your'e doing allright, a new Alfa Gt and others at 21, When I was your age all my money was being spent on bars and girls, the rest I wasted

I've done all that in droves already mate. I was out clubbing all week from the age of 16 by the time I was 18 the novelty had well worn off (in the UK at least) but I got in with the wrong crowd at 18, 3-day sessions, lots of drugs, fighting, sh*gging....so I went away...

To live in South Korea for 6 months when I was 19 on money I'd saved. Spending all weekend every weekend in Seoul still clubbing and drinking all day and night but at least it got me off the drugs.

These days I'd rather just stay in and watch TV with the missus or have a quite drink down the pub.

[/life story]

10yrs, Lambo Murcielago or whatever they bring out nearer the time, for daily running about Mitsubishi Evo 20 or similar Scooby model.

20yrs, just tooooo far.

10 Years time = Escort Cosworth.
20 Years time = Escort Cosworth.

And when Prince see's this thread I bet he says Nissan Skyline in 10 Years time.;)

10 years an Audi Estate of some description or an RS5

In 20 years probably a big old slow Volvo judging by my dads choices!

10 years, some kind of supercharged Jag V8. 20 years, blimey, my little girl will be 25 so I'll have had to sell the Jag to fund her university or wedding or olympic gymnast training.

Imo i think it is more likely that in 10 years time we'll all be driving around in POS electric cars, the petrol/diesel engines will have all been wiped out (i hope not but thats the way it's looking like going)

20 years i hope its hovercars!!

expectations - 10 years- nismo r 34 gtr
20 years- nismo r 34 gtr

realisticly- 10 years - nissan skyline r 34 gt or gts
20- gotta be gtr or ill kill myself :(

No idea, way too far ahead for my liking! So at a guess, 10 years it might be something along the lines of a newer Land Rover for everyday and some stupidly powered V8 for fun. As for 20 years it'll be rocket powered I hope!

In 10years time I might be forced to not drive anything!
In 20 I might be dead
But.....
I note that almost ALL responders have listed dream cars that they wish they had NOW:blink:
Lambos, Ferraris Astons, Evos et al
Why?:confused::confused:
Owning a DB9 in ten years will be like having a model T ford!! Lambo? Have you driven one? They have VERY restrictive rear views and dont say thats not relevent because everyone would be miles behind you anyway! What about when you need to move off?
Only one responder stated the fairly obvious.
In a few years time there will be good electric cars and hydrogen cell driven ones no doubt. Perhaps, in 20 years we will be beamed up by Scotty, taking us instantaneously to our desired destination:amazed: Technologies are moving ahead rapidly so, who can say what one would want to drive?
Anyone remember a song about 2525??
Didnt it moot the point that one wouldn't need arms and legs?

Nah dude, you'll still be in cars by then. to my knowledge (and that doesn't mean much:lol:) there is no scientific proof that the world will run out of oil anytime soon just media hype and scaremongering

10 years time a 1998 Dodge Viper GTS if they are cheaper then

20 Years times either Chev Corvette Stingray 1968 or a Maserati MC-12

In 2o years maybe there wont be internal combustion cars at all. Green poltician will prevail fight with oil lobys. Also, we will not drive anymore, at least not in todays meaning of the word driving. Drivers will be distinguished 'cause of advance technology that suposse to make trafic safer.

Today we got tempomates, distance controls and tomorow we will have autopilots which corespond with trafic satelites and all we need to do is start the vehicle and choose destination. Gov and police will have all data on our daily comutments and all of that masked in ferytail about oure safety.

So, ma driving collegues, enjoy driving while it is still legal! Driving skills would be treaten like like old profesion - like blacksmiths or sadle makers. Here we got American fellows - how manny people you know in US that are able to drive manual shift? In 20 years not many people would be able to drive at all. First we forget how to brake after ABS came in, after we forget to drive trough curve after ESP came on, then we forget to drive steady after tempomats came in, then we forget.... You got it by now where I aim!

We are one of last generations who can learn that ancient skill called "Driving". If you look around you will find, and don't be surprised, that people do not want to drive . they just wonna status simbol or something that can bring them from point "A" to point "B".
We are last Mohicans!

Hok-ah-hey, my friends!

Hey! I only drive manual. Same with most of my friends.

Anyways.

I think in 10 years I'll have a turbocharged Corvette, and some form of fuel efficient car. In 20 years I'll have a collection. I'll still have the vette, but I'll have a turbo Viper as well. and an RS4. and a huyndai veloster turbo lol. And my Mustang, of course.

I won't own anything with less than 200whp, most will have over 400, and if the gov't wants to tell me it's not safe to drive, they had better disassemble every road there is, because they won't stop me!

In 20 years time I just hope there is something decent to drive......................

and of course enough fuel to put in it without mortaging my house.
