what electrical fault can cause my mazda 323 to idle very fast?

what makes you think its electrical ?
burst vaccum pipe, dirty throttle body, idle control valve

Sticky throttle potentiometer, big boots.

How is it when the engine is cold/warm? It might be where the engine is trying to warm up all the time and ends up running rich. A temp sensor or vacuum host leak would be my guess.
