Anyone ever looked into these?

I may be the first on the website but I'm saving up to convert my dirty diesel into a Diesel/Hydrogen Hybrid only costs 400 quid and significantly improved the MPG been told by the bloke who does it to expect a minimum of a 25% increase in overall MPG maybe comfortably go over 100 mpg in urban driving.

Anyone ever looked at this???

I have a friend who tried this sort of thing. Sadly it doesn't work. The power required to separate water into hydrogen is far greater than the energy you'd get out of burning the hydrogen.

Many of these kits just produce a slight water vapour at best and provide zero measurable results.

Work has also gone into catalysts which can help split water and some of these seem promising but if it were this easy to get 100mpg don't you think the car makers who have to meet tight legislation would have done so already?

No Wayne I don't think they would mate because to be frank they are in cahoots with the likes of Shell etc which means they would lose a huge amount of money if vehicles did over 100 mpg instead of 20-50.

This is the bit of kit costs about 370 quid http://www.hydrogenhybrids.uk.com

It's not the fuel companies who will lose money. There's next to no margin on forecourt fuel. Excise duty forms a greater part of the cost of road fuel.

Revisiting this I'm reading more and more about people converting their cars to a hybrid with new hubs and battery systems.
