How to repair your alloy wheels

Anything to add to this article on alloy wheel repairs? I think it is a bit light on facts at the moment so would appreciate your comments.

The pics were taken when I had my A3 and I'm glad I had a chance to play with an alloy wheel repair kit as the results were not bad at all. It still took me a full day to do though so would probably have been more cost effective to call in the local alloy wheel repair specialist.

Well I do take my hat off to those who attempt to repair the wheel themselves.

After watching my regular guy repair my wheels over the years, then respray them to blend in the colour match, I for one will continue to leave mine to the professional!

Depends on the wheel. If it's a cheap Halfrauds type multifit wheel then yeah, chuck it. Stupidly rare / expensive wheel with a cracked or slightly buckled barrel then people tend to get them straightened or welded.
