In your driving life how many cars have you owned?

I'm on my 7th which I think is pretty low compared to many on here. I do tend to keep hold of them for quite a while.

I'm on car 7 as well. Not bad since 1988 - 28 years. The mileage over that time is impressive too.

Oh let's see, in order of appearance -
    1976 Morris Marina 1.3
    1980 Honda Accord EX 1.6
    1983 Honda Prelude EX 1.8
    1986 Lancia Thema V6 2.8
    1988 Citroen AX GT 1.4
    1986 Ford Escort Ghia 1.6
    1988 Nissan Silvia S12 1.8Turbo
    1986 Austin Metro L 1.3
    1995 VW Golf GL 1.8
2006 VW Golf GT Tdi170 (current)
    1989 Porsche 944 SE Turbo

Ah actually the dates are the year the car was made not years I owned it in. The list is in order of ownership so my 1st car was a 1976 Marina, my 2ND car was a Accord etc.
So the Prelude was when I went into frontline retail sales and was doing well. The Lancia was when I went into management, that was when I was about 22 years old I reckon. The Citroen was because the Lancia nearly financially broke me so had to go small.
Escort was because I was engaged by then I needed money to set up home so bought a cheap £200 quid runabout Ford.
Silvia was because I was stupid I wanted a sports car. Metro was new wife's car and Silvia had to go to pay for new furniture and baby stuff.
1st Golf was because we wanted bigger safer car and 2nd and current Golf we bought brand new in 2006 as we made good money selling our house moving from the big town to the country.
The Porsche and Skyline were my toys in the last few years when I was doing well in business but my priorities have changed and family is put first now so do much much less hours at work.
My life story in a car list, I feel so cleansed

Yeah It was just, it suddenly dawned on me when I wrote that list how it triggered memories of what was happening in my life and how it kind of reflected in my car choice at the point in time. It was quite deep n spiritual man  (I'm going to get some food now as I haven't had any today yet and I think I'm losing it a bit ?-/)

Yeah, I loved those GTIs, but they all had problems (mostly age related) and never really lasted beyond a year of me thrashing them. The GTIs were in my street racing days.... (yeah yeah, I know, young and dumb etc ;))

I haven't any new cars but we picked up a lovely top of the range 2007 Clio with only 32000 miles on the clock and we know the previous 2 owners. Looking at my earlier post my 1st car was a very basic 100 quid Marina and Chloe now gets aircon, abs, remote HiFi, central locking etc etc... How times have changed

I do have a list somewhere, just over 60 cars and a couple of vans including race cars.
