How long does it take for a speeding ticket to come through the post?

I got flashed 2 weeks ago in road works but still haven't had anything through in the post. Does that mean I'm lucky? Is there a statute limit on issuing a penalty notice?

No that's usually the length of time you have to pay the ticket, once it arrives.
If there is a limit then it's 6 months or something before they have to send it out.

Quote from gov.uk:

By law, the vehicle’s registered keeper must be sent a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the alleged speeding offence.

QED

Yes, but if they have to spend six weeks tracking down and identfying the owner then that 14 day statutory limit doesn't automatically apply.

There's a also the problem of proving delivery of service of the NIP.

In general terms though, if everything is in order admin wise your end etc. I'd forget about it.
