I have employed my son to strip a Ford Sapphire RS Cosworth. It took him just under 4 days to reduce it to a bare shell! Considering it was his first time I reckon that was pretty good. Just have to clean and list everything now :)

That would be going some. The Sapphire ends up around 150 separate parts. By stripped I mean stripped - just a bare shell sitting on the ground in around 26 hours on his own.

thats a pretty good time, last time it took me around 2 hours to get out the engine, box and ancilliaries from a Sierra 4x4, but then we just took a stihl saw the the rest of the car and 3 of us were doing it.

For an Escort, used to take a couple of days to get from full car down to the shell.

Stripped a few myself over the years when racing, mainly for re-shelling between seasons. It's surprising how quick you can get them stripped when your well stuck in!

I could have a Punto GT at a bare shell on my own in a day I reckon. I do it in small chunks though because I don't usually get full days free to spend. IE it takes me about 6 years to strip one but total time spent is about an hour LOL.

Very good, but there are some places in Brooklyn, New York were that can be done in an hour apparently! the young rascals :amazed:
