Hi folks.
Got a 3.0 V6 CRD Jeep GC. Alarm fob key does nothing when pressed. Checked all fuses that I can find under steering wheel panel by the footwell and the fusebox under the hood. Door opens with a key ok. The car starts and drives normally. Any ideas?

Yep. Changed it for a good one I know to be good.
Isn't there a security module of some kind on these things - could that be the issue?

Is it an aftermarket alarm or OE?
The fact you can start suggests the immobiliser (assuming you have one) is disabled or the fob is still sending a go signal to that.
Hmmm...
When you open manually with the key do all the doors unlock (another assumption that you have central locking)? If they don't it could be the locking solenoid. They are fragile things, I've had to replace a few over the years.

Only the driver door - then the alarm kicks off and I need to insert the key to stop it.
