Help wanted - Clio 1.2v

Hi folks.

A friend of mine has a problem with her Clio. It's a 1.2L 8v 3 door hatch.

The problem is that the ABS sensor light has appeared on the panel. The car seems to drive ok, but the light is coming on intermittently. A quick check by a local mechanic has identified that the ABS ring may be the problem.

Apparently it goes on the drive / camshaft. Does anyone know if this is correct? Is the sensor faulty? How much is this to fix. What should she be looking for / expect to pay for a repair to have it working normally?

its normally read off the ABS ring on the wheel.

how much to fix etc i cant comment on. is its the abs module thats gone expect it to be a nice price however

All sorted now. She called me today to say it was the ABS sensor. The mechanice fixed it. £130 all in. Not bad. Thanks for the input.
