HELP NEEDED mitsubishi chariot 4x4

hi folks i have a 1994 mitsubishi chariot {spacewagon} 4x4 permanant 4x4
its a 1998cc petrol and it is savage on petrol
i have just located a 1994 spacewagon 1998 cc turbo diesel
now im wondering is it possible to do an engine swap
or is it too much hassle ?
wiring looms ecu etc etc
the chariot is an import
any help greatly appreciated

HI Tony and welcome to TorqueCars. To be frank a change from petrol to diesel is a major hassle. Fuel lines and everything else need to be changed. If you are in the UK it is also a real pain getting the car re-registered as you need an engineers report and a load of paperwork Have you looked into tuning the 2.0 for better economy? Basicaly by fitting a warmer stat and getting warmer air into the engine you will improve economy. You can also get the head ported and this wil help. They are pretty heavy cars so is there any weight you cut back on?
