i'm happy owner of a 306 cab 2.0
and would like to boost it a bit
i think that its motor is very close to the 16s one (except the 6 speeds box and the magnetti marelli motor supply management)
If anybody already experienced such move....

How much were you looking to spend on your car?

Will it be used as a daily car or are you just saving it for the weekends?

How important is it that the car retain it's reliability and economy?

It would be helpful to know a bit more about the car, do you know the engine code?

no idea how much I wanna spend. Let's say between 500 & 1000EUR

I'm using the car 4 to 5 days per week but not intensively (about 110.000 miles today after 14 years...)
I would like it to remain reliable (never had any problem till today). Less important if fuel consumption is increasing (no free lunch

and I think that the motor is a XU10J4R

I don't want to transform it into a rally car pushing it in her limits when slaloming etc.
I just want to increase its "elasticity" and have it to push more between 3000 and 5000 rpm... Also max speed is no criteria for me. 100mph is already too much for such car..
