Re: Introduce yourself here

Hello, names Giles my first car is and was a Vectra B 2.0l turbo vectra aint bad on insurance and love driving it seing all the 17/18's in nova's :D

Fitted 2 nice big dual 15" subs in the back 1200 watt each, declared my alloys and exhaust manifold mods already even though they are not fitted yet still fun fun fun.

Looking for some advice on induction and replacing the turbo with an aftermarket one.

Cheers.

Re: Introduce yourself here

nothing yet...soon to have induction kit, remus centre section, some decent alloys..18 "....maybe re-map and chip...what do you recommend?

Re: Introduce yourself here

remap and a chip are the same thing done in a different way - 1 envolves pulling the ECU apart and soldering in the chip and the other is done by uploading a new map via the diagnostic port.
induction kit, exhaust, new cams, fuel pressure reg and remap should see you a decent amount on the 2.6.
throttle bodies work well on the smaller vaux engines not sure about the bigger ones tho.
you could also try and hunt done the 2.8 turbo outo the vec vxr or drop it down abit and fit the 2.0 turbo outo the calibra or the saab HOT

Re: Introduce yourself here

where can i find cheap throttle bodies for my 1400 tigra slug??? 600 notes for cams is too much and 90 kwids 4 a fuel boost regulator is noye nuff any tips????

Re: Introduce yourself here

I don't run a Vauxhall anymore, but have had a few in the past, so I may be of some help to some of you on here. Previous ones were:

72 Droopsnoot Firenza (not real HPF)
Viva GLS
Magnum 2300 saloon
Magnum 2300 Coupe (Byldenstein st4 engine)
Chevette HSX 2300 16v twin cam, twin 48's and some works bits.
Chevette 1900 manta engine oval racer.
Chevette 3500 rover V8 semi-space-framed oval racer.
Carlton 2.2 CDi
Omega Tourer 2.6 V6
Calibra V6 (I removed and fitted a semi-rebuilt engine)

Currently on the lookout for a redtop engine and running gear for a future project.

Re: Introduce yourself here

hi every one.. I'm from South Africa and i drive a Corsa C 1.7 CDTi. So far i have put a freeflow exhaust and upgraded my filter to K&N. Any body who can give me tips on tuning would be of great help beacause there are not many people that i know of who have tuned these cars..

Re: Introduce yourself here

hi ya bud. the only tip i can give you is if you already done more air in, more gas out, your ready for delivering more fuel. dont forget to stop!!!!

Re: Introduce yourself here

another newbie...just got a 95 plate calibra 2.0 16v.... replaced the idle valve but it still stops when ervs drop and only rarely will tick over...any ideas guys ?

hey and welcome to the site.
would advise more getting it chipped if it cant be remapped. tuning boxes in the main lie to the ECU. this can cause more problems than its worh
