gti 206 138hp engine upgrade to 206 gti 180hp

can anyone tell me whats involved in swapping the gti 138hp engine with the gti 180hp, is it a straight fit eg. fuel lines, ecu, is it all the same, does anyone know or has anyone done this conversion before.

Welcome to TC. Hopefully a pug guru will be along sometime soon to offer assistance. I'm no pug expert but would guess it'll be a straight forward change as they share alot of components.

Welcome to our humble abode...

Engine should be an easy swap, engine mounts will be the same but the ecu will be more complex because the 180 has VVT. Rear axle might be slightly different using some tie bars connecting to the rear swing arms not sure if the 138 has those. front brakes are much bigger and worth swapping and the master cylinder. hope this helps
