Pretty nice car, a lot of potential for upgrades if thats a patch you wish to follow.

I always find it a shame when I see a petrol with 8v, if it has 16v it would be so much better :D

yes true but then for what i paid for this car i cant grumble and upgrading is oh so on the list. Just take a guess at what i paid, it has near on 12months mot and 4 months tax. its got 2 tiny rust spots and thats it. its had brand new brakes and discs fitted this yr, new engine parts and is coming with the £300 JVC stereo thats in and theres a huge amp in the boot + 2 extra speakers in the parcel shelf along with your standard speaker set up the car has. I think i said i bought this of a friend at work and he works in the auto section, is engine and body work crazy so its been well looked after.

Nice little car you got there, i like the Mk3's
one thing u need to do befotre u even consider modding your Golf is have a look around and then write a mock up of what u want to do, because there is no point chelling out cash 4 meedless mods that make your car look like a spaceship :)

Dubs need the subtle touch hun just keep that in minde :)

Well to be honest ive made a ruff list already but havent told anyone as i thought i was just getting too carried away. Also ive already got my idea for the sort of modded golf i want and its an idea ive had since i was in my early 20's. ok the idea was for a MK1 ford escort but they are so hard too get hold of and any i have seen i cant afford anyway.
Oh the idea you ask, yer ok let me say im a rally fan --- well i want a golf that styled on a rally car but not maxed out rally looks. I want to hint at it. I want a awsome looking engine and i want the body to be gentle on the eyes. I hate body kits that are like the width of a bus and drag along the road. I dont want 70mm or whatever it is of my sus because in the real word a normal road is nothing like a race track and i travel a lot of country lanes so i want sus setup for a ruff time. I want rally style rims with tires that like gravel and wet and ruff tarmac.
Anyway thats me getting carried away and maybe this belongs somewhere else in the forum as i want feedback on this so i know what im looking at.

:D

some fresh pics of my red devil. It is now 100% mine, parked outside my house, last 2 days have been awsome fun. Ive never had a car that is so well built or the comfort.

The stereo came with the car, very nice JVC which was worth around 300 notes a few yrs ago so no complaints from me there

:D

And along with the standard 8 speakers are these 2 300watts in the parcel shelve and in the boot a kenwood 400watt amp, these also came already in the car :D

so happy days for me.

I gotta have the whole stereo system checked out as it likes like whoever wired it all up didnt do the greatest job in the world but it works so im happy for now.

Nice. The wiring looks like they found a load of short bits of wire and gobbed them together. The sound quality will be a little better if you tidy that up - the frequencies carried by wire hates joins and breaks.

What plans have you got for the headlights? A black tint pair would look ace against the red.

the amp and those 2 speakers are out of the car now, ive decided i dont need em, im not 20 anymore and im not looking to blow my windows out. I'm just going to get the standard speaker system thats in the car fitted with new ones, all round. Nice ones which get the best out of my stereo as it.
Amp and speakers going on ebayyyyyyy :) you never know.
The lights, im looking at angel lights with eye lids. Mind you the eye lids are a ? at the mo.

yer the stereo has sub connection on the back of it and theres a lead running from the stereo hole to the back of the car already. Only thing is space, subs seem so big and a golf boot isnt the biggest in the world. Is there decent small subs out there?

Really strong magnets can make up for lack of size. (Thats why little guys shout a lot! Only joking - I'm not particularly tall!)

if you just want some bass (not window breaking) little 8 and 10 " subs can be good thats what i started with

little tip if you cut out the floor where your spare wheel sits you can lower the sub in there with the amp on the back of the seats and wiring under the carpet just carpet some 1"x1" wood and screw it into the wooden floor / carpet (do this from the underside thou so you dont drill through your boot)and put some perspex over the top so you can still use your boot without damaging the sub
