All the specs for the 2.0 TDi versions of the Golf the A3 and the Seat Leon are quite similar.

What would you go for if you had to choose between them? The Leon seems to be the cheapest but is it the best value for money?

Would an A3 hold it's value for longer?

No idea. The Leon would be the cheapest overall regardless of depreciation. I don't know the retail values but to illustrate the point I'd rather lose 50% of £15,000 than 33% of £30,000.

Depreciation chasing is a mugs game. Trading in every two years, replacing one 1.2 Corsa with another identical one. After ten years you've spent more than enough to have bought a nicely prepared 2nd user 3-series Touring and keep it far longer than ten years!

As everything on a VW or Audi are optional extras do Seat throw in a bit more kit like Skoda do? Personally I'm a bit bored of all the VAG group cars. Really difficult to choose a new car these days. I think I would buy a 5 year old prestige car that would make me feel special when I drove it then a new Euro box mid range model
