i'm driving a 1800 8v golf want to know if i can upgrade the clutch and pressure plate to a 16v clutch and pressure plate..

dunno mate had a look on vagcat.com
theres 3 plates showing 190 mm 200 and 210mm. only gives the engine codes however.
if you can get you engine code from the handbook or the engine. and get the engine codes for the 16valver then you could compare them
i think the 200mm might for the diesel engines as it says diesel then the engine code

The only difference in the engines as far as I know is the head. So you shold be ok with the 16 clutch.

old thread i know but if its a mk2 as far as i know the clutch assemblys are different on 8 and 16v
