Astra BK RS 1.6T
Hello all,
Looking forward to some sound advice on my questions relating to my Astra. So yeah. I purchased my Astra second hand 8months back now. This is a

HOLDEN BK ASTRA RS, Manual 2016 4 Door Hatchback FWD PETROL 1.6 litre, B16SHT I4 16v DOHC I/C Turbo Direct Inj {147kW}

Above imported from DOT licensing. I have been impressed with this little sleeper that I have already made a few improvements. Away with the 17” for some 18” 225x40, have just had a Cat back 3” to 2.5” sports exhaust installed with a K&N air filter “stock box” and today I got it back from ST coil overs installed bringing it down 25.4mm. If I could load a pic. I’d hope to hear looks nice. Okay to my question.

It goes into mechanic this Monday for State 1 remap “hope that’s correct way to say” I can say the car already has some poke but being my first turbo and hearing these things I’m looking forward to doing this. If the enthusiasts off the page can let me know what to expect. What exactly do they do. I’ve been told that car will be on the dyno, required overnight to extract the data from ECU then sent to his mate at Opel for opening on parameters to gain 10-15% performance, data loaded the next day and on the dyno one last time. Thanks for having a read and I look forward to feedback and future posts

Hello and welcome from the Sunshine State.|B

The absolute first mod to increase power and earlier boost rise is to install a larger diameter exhaust system from the turbo outlet
The next thing would be to remove the injectors and have them sonic cleaned and flow tested.

Been there done that.

Thanks for this. So I have started off wrong already. It’s always good to know these things. I have upgraded to exhaust, however this is from the factory Cat back

Fitting the largest diameter turbo dump pipe that you can will allow the turbine to spin faster sooner so the boost pressure will ramp up sooner a 100cell cat will also help. Turbos work best with as near as possible zero back pressure.
