I bet the independent garage is quite happy to have charge of a Gallardo. Makes a change for them from the AMG Mercs and Porsches they must see much more frequently.

They specialise in ferrari and lambo,so was very happy to see 2 gallardos,3 murcialagos and several 360s and 430 knocking around in their workshop.

That is reassuring. At least they will probably know what they are doing. Do you worry about them "test driving" the car? I think I would be paranoid if I had a Gallardo.

many moons ago i had an xr3i,I went mad on it ,tuned exhaust,k&n filters, kent cams...anyway took it into a garage as it was running a bit rough, left it with them, came back and it had been written off when they decided to take it for a ride.
In my experience the worst people for this are the official dealers.Go to stratstone porsche in wilmslow and see how customers cars are driven there,it really is disturbing.

I can imagine, I have heard scary stories about such things

So who can we actually trust to take care of our pride and joys then?

Who indeed? had the wheels on my car kerbed twice by the main dealer riff raff drivers in the early days! :amazed: after a few years with them now and a tone in my voice whenever I drop off the car for some works to be done, they are a bit more respectful of my property now! :)

I've only ever taken my car to a garage once to been mot'd and serviced and they were a right bunch of cowboys, I would recommend everyone to STEER CLEAR of Nationwide Autocentres, they are con merchants

I think the Gallardo is a more exclusive car, particularly the LP560-4.

The Audi R8 V10 will be a much more common sight on the road.

We have had a lot of buyer enquiries about Audi RB V10s as they are particularly in demand.

I would say there is very little difference in build quality and reliability as both engines/drivetrain/electronics/chassis etc are designed and built by Audi.

As for future value, we would definitely say the Gallardo will hold its value much better. However at the moment you can expect to pay a premium on the Audi.

Which is the better buy the Gallardo at around £145k or the R8 V10 at £125k.

Both share the same V10 engine although the Gallardo is 550bhp and the R8 runs a little less at 525bhp?

No arguments, The R8 wins. It does what the Gallardo does and that too at a cheaper rate. Honestly speaking it looks much much more sexier that the lambo:love:

Items have improved now the V10 R8 has came. The motors are a much better coordinate than they ever were.
