Premium or Super? Should you try one of the newer 100+ octane fuels? What about an octane boosting petrol additive? Does using a petrol with a higher RON improve performance or fuel economy? As a general rule using a higher RON fuel is of no benefit IF the motor is not designed / tuned/mapped for it.

FWIW My previous turbo powered car the was mapped/fine tuned on a dyno with BP Ultimate 98 RON in the tank BUT for track days where it would be driven enthusiastically I would add Lucas octane booster.
