Hi, new car since I logged on last, its a 'N' 1996 406 1.8LX.

I think there may be a blocked/failed injector or something, fuel is pissing out of every orifice on the the fuel rail, and the car is just drinking fuel. You can smell it quite badly when starting, and there are puddles of fuel on top of the engine.
The injection system is bosche Motrinic 5.1.1 Any suggestions or a crash course in injections systems would be appreciated, thanks.

It has stopped now?????
May have been a blocked injector, dunno. I will run some redex or something through the system and keep you posted. Very strange...
The car has been running fine apart from the occasional hesitation.

OK its something to do with the dodgy wiring on the immobiliser bypass. The fuel pump seems to be switching on before the car turns over. I think I may need to hire an auto electrician for this one....:sad2:

It is probably the quickest option and long term cheapest to get in a pro. Trial and error guessing can lead to a long drawn out diagnostic process.

Is it an aftermarket immobiliser?

Unfortunately not....
It's factory fit, and a pig by all accounts.

I need to completely rebuild the dash and centre console and put everything back to stock, fix the blowers and change the dash clocks (which have one too many dials than Peugeot intended.) When its back to factory, I will get the electric completely overhauled.
It has full leather, the A/C and all the windows and locks work, unusual on a car this age. New clutch, gearbox, cam belt, exhaust, so probably worth fixing the electrics properly, and keeping for a few years...
