faulty wipers need help

good day...

i have a problem an i need help:embarrest:

my wipers for some reason, when i switch on the ignition, the wipers
move half way up the windscreen... i continually have to get out my car an manually move them to their starting position...an when it rains they move down first then up...i even went as far as to(while the engine running) remove the wipers an put them on,to how they should be.but they then smack into the rain guard(the black plastic grill) ..

need some help

My grandads car did this after we changed the motor. Its the mechanism not set up properly. Take the whole thing off and put it on in the position it should be when the wipes are off.

as in unbolt the wipers. or take off the plastic thingy where the whole mechanism and motor is?

Yeah. Unfortunatly. It just needs setting up properly that's all. Find out how it should be when at rest. And fit it in that position. Then put the wiper arms on. Use a bit of logic to determine where the mechanism just be when at rest.
