i want to get more torque through out the rev range on this
engine i fitted to my renault 9 .
i have allready backed it up with a group A induction kit
and a 2" scorpion exhaust and ,
those two on their own made a
remarkable difference response and pull wise .

now what else can i do to get a more torque efficent engine
without loosing the daily drive comfort and reliability ??

A lighter one off the shelf means you'll be off the road for a day - getting your flywheel lightened can take up to a week. The end result is similar although some lightened flywheels are constructed of special materials so just drilling holes in your flywheel can upset the strength of it.

no problems i got a spare engine here with
the fly wheel attached .

so what sort of gains am i looking for ,with a
lightened flywheel ???
would not using smaller or lighter wheels make
the same sort of affect ??

The flywheel rotates at 2000-5000 rpm so it would be much more noticable than fitting lighter wheels.

i see and it makes perfect sense 8)

how about getting the crank lightened ,balanced etc ??
like i said i got a complete spare engine to work on .
i want to get anything i can do to it without buggering the
daily drive reliability !!!

cause i know maxing engines up cause them pop sooner rather
than later unless you spend a fortune on them .

Lightening and balancing will help improve reliabilty - no harsh vibrations so everything should run more smoothly. Large valves and getting the head gas flowed will help with power gains and you still shouldn't be sacrificing reliability.

I recommend you to buy DENSO IRIDIUM PLATINUM LK22 spark plugs. I bought it for my R19 16v PH2. Super. Satisfaction guaranteed!
