I call it burping the radiator to remove any trapped pockets of air in the system and this is how it's done.

FWIW I used to silicone seal a plastic drink bottle in place of the radiator cap ( I have seen adapters that fit on to the radiator) and run the engine and the hot coolant will expand and rise up into the bottle and then squeese the rubber hoses to help send any trapped air bubbles up into the bottle. Top up coolant as needed.

NOTE you will need to clamp the overflow hose to stop fluid filling the over flow / expansion bottle.

WARNING/ DANGER keep hands well away from belts and fan blades. You can unplug electric fans to make the blades safe while this is done.

When there are no more bubbles appearing and there is still coolant showing in the plastic bottle turn off motor allow it to cool down and top up coolant if needed.
